"Dream On" Anne Conley

 My Rating: 4 Stars
Synopsis:

Alyssa and Dalton lead completely opposite lives. She's a frustrated single mother, unappreciated schoolteacher, and completely unfulfilled woman. He's been living the crazy life for way too long, and doesn't know how to make himself stop. They just keep going in their separate existences until the dreams start. Then they realize that there is so much more out there than the lives they are currently living.

My Thoughts:

This Book was an unexpected surprise. It was described to me as a contemporary romance.

Well I am here to tell you, it could be considered contemporary romance, but highly unlikely. While reading this book it was like the author started it out fully intending it to be a contemporary, then changed her mind. It was exactly what I like in a book. It was well written and had a nice flow to it.

Alyssa is a single mother of two kids who doesn’t know how to take care of her own needs, her ex husband believed that sex was for procreation only, and in my opinion that doesn’t sound very fun. She is strong and compassionate and she seems to be pretty good at her job. Her only thing is that she is kind of a prude; she is still letting her ex husband dictate her life and she just doesn't know how to have fun. She is the type of girl that you just want to scream, “ what the hell is the matter with you” at. One night she starts dreaming of the hunky guy known as Dalton.

Dalton is a bartender, in Dallas; he is fun and doesn’t really care what he does. He’s a man whore. With that being said when I started this book, I imagined Dalton would something like Jensen Ackles (Dean on supernatural), Yum right?
Well he is the exact opposite of Alyssa, he is confident and sexy, and he knows how to get what he wants.

He is forced to come home after his dad gets sick, and he dreams of Alyssa too. They realize that they are both in the same town, and it just gets better after they meet, I’m not going to go in to much detail about this, but the book sure does heat up.

This book was a very good, humorous, steamy read. Definitely should give this one a try.
